Before selecting the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) in JAMB or changing your institutions and courses, you should thoroughly review the university’s brochure. While studying the brochure, one of the areas of convergence is the list of courses and the required O’level subjects/grades for them.
In this post, I’ll go over the LASUSTECH courses and SSCE subjects that are required. You will also be able to see where the university accepts D7, E8 or F9 for specific subjects.
List of Courses and Subject Requirements at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH)
Agricultural Economics and Farm Administration: A candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to be admitted to any option of the B.Agric. programme (UTME). A candidate with an O’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted if they also have a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. Candidates with a pass in Physics may also be admitted under special circumstances.
Crop Protection: To be admitted to any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as an acceptable UTM pass (UTME). A candidate with an O’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted if they also have a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. Candidates with a pass in Physics may also be admitted under special circumstances.

Accounting: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Actuarial Science requires five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two relevant subjects.
Economic Science: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English and other arts and/or social science subjects are required for Mass Communication Science & Technology.
Banking & Finance: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Insurance: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Marketing: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Office and Information Technology: At least credit level passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics, as well as credit in two other relevant subjects.
Business Administration: Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects.
Computer Engineering & Technology: Five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Civil & Construction Engineering: Five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Electrical/Electronics: Five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes, including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Biotechnology and Food Technology: Five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Mechanical Engineering requires five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Mechatronics Engineering requires five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes, including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Agricultural Engineering requires five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other subject from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology, or Economics.
Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology, or Economics.
Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology, or Economics.
Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two subjects are required for Urban & Regional Planning.
Five (5) credit passes at the WASCE, NECO, or GCE O’Level or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, any one (1) of Chemistry/Biology, and any two (2) of the following: Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing/Fine Art/Visual Art (will be an added advantage), Geography, Dye and Bleaching.
Building Technology: Five SSSCE (or equivalent) credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, or Biology.
Chemical Sciences: At the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, at least credit level passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as credit in one other relevant science subject.
Physics with Electronics: At the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, you must have at least credit level passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as credit in one other relevant science subject.
Mathematical Sciences: At the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, at least credit level passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics as core subjects, plus credit in any other two relevant science subjects.
Biological Sciences: At least five credit level passes at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
At the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, you must have at least credit level passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as credit in one other relevant science subject.
