Considering how difficult the school of nursing exams had been reported to be, it’s more likely you’re looking for those that won’t conduct entrance tests for their assistants before admitting them.
Before you give up on nursing school exams, my guide, “How To Pass School of Nursing Exams in Nigeria” may help to give you some confidence if you should give it some thought.
Some candidates are of the opinion that the exams, even if it’s not that difficult, there is no certainty that these schools and colleges of nursing are not purposefully sabotaging the effort of poor candidates just to favor their own slots.
And going through the hell of studying for and passing the exam is something a typical Nigerian student will like to avoid.
As a result, there is a need to look into the list of schools of nursing that won’t conduct entrance exams and if we find any, talk about how they will admit instead.
No School of Nursing Will Admit Without an Entrance Exam
From my experience, as an education consultant, having consulted for students seeking admission into several schools and colleges of Nursing in Nigeria, I’ve not come across, heard of, or known any of these institutions that will not test aspirants before admission.
It’s clear that some schools will not conduct exams for their aspirants, especially among the universities and polytechnics, but for the schools and colleges of nursing, conduction and writing an entrance test is customarily A MUST.
It’s safe to say that if you’re trying to avoid writing exams before you can gain admission into a Nursing programme, you should consider some universities instead of schools and colleges of Nursing
Some Universities Offering Nursing Won’t Conduct Exams
If you’re trying to avoid exams before gaining admission to Nursing, some universities won’t conduct any other exams. Among these universities are:
- Lagos State University, Lagos
- University of Abuja, FCT
- University of Maiduguri, Borno State
- Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso (may not conduct exam if there is a strike, national unrest, or pandemic)
- Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State
- Osun State University, Osogbo, Osun State
- Kwara State University, Molete, Ilorin, Kwara State
- Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State

The Higher Your JAMB Score and SSCE Grade The Better
If you must go for any of the universities listed above, all in the name of trying to dodge any entrance exam, you should be ready to compete intensively with your UTME score and O’level grades.
It should be clear to you, by now, that, you will strictly need JAMB UTME and WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB to be admitted to universities admitting for Nursing without post-UTME or any other exams
