Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Capability to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children to ensure proper growth and development.
- Ability to lead activities such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local attractions to ensure proper engagement and stimulation for children.
- Capability to provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity to ensure proper exploration and self-expression for children.
- Capability to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits to ensure proper hygiene and health for children.
- Capability to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and to prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors to ensure proper monitoring and support for children.
- Capability to assess children’s abilities, interests, and needs and to discuss progress and problems with parents and other staff members to ensure proper communication and collaboration.
- Capability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers who work with children to ensure proper teamwork and support.
- Capability to plan and maintain an environment that protects children’s health, safety, and well-being to ensure proper care and security for children.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Fluency in the English language to ensure proper communication and understanding.
- A College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience to ensure proper education and knowledge.
- Experience in early childhood education is an asset to ensure proper skills and expertise.
- An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate to ensure proper education and knowledge in early childhood development.
- Dependability and reliability to ensure proper attendance and performance in the workplace.
- Capability to be a good team player to ensure proper collaboration and support in the workplace.
Work setting
- The candidate must work in a child care centre.
