When I posted “Universities and Courses that Accept D7, E8 or F9 in Physics for Admission,” I assumed I was looking for trouble. I knew that more and more people would ask related questions. I’d also promised that that piece would kick off a never-ending series of such debates on schoolcontents.info.
This candidate has a WAEC D7 in Biology.
And just for that post, I had some questions about some deficiencies in Biology. Admission seekers are asking: What course can I study with D7 in Biology?
What Biology course should I take with E8?
Which universities will accept D7, E8, or F9 in Biology?
Can I still apply for admission with a Cancel in Biology?
Can I apply for any course if I have an outstanding grade in Biology?
These are just a few examples. I received your responses and have listed my points below.
Biology is, of course, central to some science courses. On that note, if you are a management/social science or art student, you will not need Biology for admission. In other words, Biology will never be required in 99% of your management courses.
However, for sciences, you may struggle to get by without at least a credit pass.
How Many Subjects Do Science Courses Require?
In general, you must complete at least 5 credit passes in no more than two sittings.
Some schools, such as the University of Ibadan, require at least 6 credit passes if two sittings are required.
Some courses, such as Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing, require only one sitting.
Biology is generally required in pure science and medical courses, and you must have at least a credit pass in it.
This is why you should read your brochure before deciding on a course in the first place.
